Spruce Shop, of Fish Creek, was honored in the “Best of Milwaukee 2017” edition by M Magazine – Milwaukee for their new location in the Walker’s Point/Third Ward Neighborhood. They earned the distinction of being named “Best Summer Pop-up Shop.”

It's finally taco time: The Laughing Taco — by James Beard nominee Justin Carlisle and his wife, Lucia Muñoz, a native of Monterrey, Mexico — is in its soft opening in Walker's Point for lunch and dinner.
The compact counter-service restaurant is at 1033 S. 1st St., in street-level retail space at the new Trio apartments. Regular hours will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday, starting June 6.

Sweet Tooth, 13320 Watertown Plank Road, is moving this summer to a new shared commercial kitchen operated by the owners of La Merenda and Engine Co. No. 3, said Brianna Brilowski, who started the dining spot and bakery with her mom, Pam, in 2014.

During cold Wisconsin winters and rainy days, Harambee neighborhood resident Theresa Garrison waits for the bus to go to the closest grocery store, the Pick ‘n Save in Milwaukee's Riverwest area.
“The biggest inconvenience is that I have to leave my neighborhood to get groceries when I don’t have a car,” Garrison said.

Drink Wisconsinbly, which describes itself as "Wisconsin's official unofficial lifestyle brand," is releasing details of its plans to open a bar and restaurant in the building that formerly held Blue Jacket, at 135 E. National Ave. in Walker's Point.
Drink Wisconsinbly Pub is expected to open this month in partnership with Laura van Heijningen, former Blue Jacket co-owner, and Nebi Torbica, formerly of the late Walker's Point bar Moct. Blue Jacket closed in July.
